Alžběta Bačíková focuses on the medium of the moving image and works primarily with video installation. In the past years, Bačíková has dealt with the reflection of documentary tendencies in contemporary art both in her theoretical research and in her artistic practice. In 2018 she finished her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno. She was previously a resident at Artist-in-Residence Programme at MuseumsQuartier in Vienna (MQ AiR) and finalist of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award. She regularly enriches her individual work through collaborations with other female artists and also works as a curator of Etc. Gallery in Prague.

Bačíková is artist-in-residence at Art in General as part of the Frederieke Taylor Residency Program in collaboration with the International Visegrad Fund and Centre for Contemporary Art FUTURA.
